  • My wife Stephanie and I have bought two places on Capitol Hill with Lisa and sold one. A friend recommended Lisa when we were looking for our first place. We worked with a few different agents and she stood out from them because of her honesty and willingness to really dedicate herself to helping us find a great place within our budget. About the former: We've walked into a house with Lisa and had her say - respectfully without letting the other agent in the house hear - that we should go and not consider this one because of flaws she'd seen. I'd also called her to go look at a place and have her steer us away from it because of issues she knew of with the building. I bring this up because after working with a few other agents it was refreshing to have someone truly on our side, with years of experience in Seattle who knew the back-stories of building and neighborhoods.

    In February, my wife and I got a tip that a place we'd been looking at for two years was coming out of foreclosure. I called Lisa on a Sunday afternoon, she came over and we immediately went to look at it. We decided to put an offer in on it, contingent on our place selling. The seller agreed and gave us 45 days to sell our place. Considering we needed to paint, make some minor repairs, move quite a bit into storage, and stage it, this was quite a task in the market at the time (Lisa can give you stats on the average time for homes to sell). Lisa had her team help us out and we put out house on the market that week. She also helped us negotiate with the listing agent of the place we were trying to buy. We sold our place in less than three weeks and moved into our second home within four weeks of starting the process. I'm sure it doesn't always work out that way, we weren't trying to make a killing off our place, just a profit of xx amount that we felt made sense for our time and improvements there.   • Lisa has done a terrific job as an agent for us.  She has been our agent on two purchases -- one in 1995 and one this year -- and we are currently selling our first house through her.  She is very, very committed to her work.  For the house we are currently selling, she facilitated staging the house and held open houses every single weekend until we got an offer.  When the pending buyers inspection revealed a couple repairs that needed to be done, she immediately contacted potential contractors and helped arrange for the work to be done.  She has a good sense of market value, knows the Seattle market inside and out- and has good relationships with many agents.  I doubt there is a house she could not sell.  Chris Gamache and Judy Fleissner
